About Us

Our Story

This season Quoddy Link Marine celebrates 28 years of operations. John and Lisa Eldridge founded the business in 1995. John was a former ships officer with the Canadian Coast Guard who grew up on the waters of the Bay of Fundy. Lisa is a Cape Bretoner who’s focus is always on ensuring professional, friendly and sincere customer service.  We are proud and grateful to have captains and biologists that each have over 20 years’ experience and dedication to our company. We round out our crew with university science and biology students who bring enthusiasm and knowledge as they gain experience for future careers in their respective professions.

Why A Catamaran?

Because we hate to disappoint, we love being in the company of whales and we like to exceed your expectations. In this dynamic ocean environment there are no guarantees. The weather changes  and whales thankfully still roam freely.

The capabilities of our modern power catamaran provide more options in reducing the impacts that nature plays in determining a successful excursion. Her design can keep all passengers warm and dry. It provides the space to allow 360 degree unobstructed viewing (we carry the same number of passengers as smaller vessels). When required it has the speed to go the distance and it does it with less motion than single-hulled vessels of similar or smaller size. We’ve owned and operated other vessel types, including types operated by our competitors. Our experience (along with the basic principles of physics) indicates that for getting the job done the catamaran can’t be beat – its simply about capability.

Personal Space

We offer more than twice the space per passenger as our nearest competitor. Our upper deck can accommodate 36 of our 46 passenger capacity

Inside Seating for All

The lower deck can seat all passengers in heated comfort. The windows can open for clear viewing.

Stable & Spacious

The widely spaced twin V-hulls of our catamaran reduce motion while also providing spacious passenger areas.

Wheelchair Accessible

St. Andrews only wheelchair accessible vessel. The lower deck allows those in wheelchairs to move freely from one side of the boat to the other. Note: The washroom is not wheelchair accessible.

Twin Diesel Engines

Safety, reliability and the speed to ensure more time with the whales and wildlife and less time in transit.

We Care

Our goal is to provide our guests with a safe exciting educational expedition into a very unique ocean eco-system. We have taken several measures to ensure our guests are provided St. Andrews’ best opportunity to view whales and wildlife in their natural environment. The responsibility we feel to fulfill your expectations is as important as the responsibility we have to respect the environment we share.

While we continually re-invest in an attempt to improve our service and capability, we also invest in the research and development of technologies that will reduce our impact on the environment. In 2005, in an effort to reduce our exhaust and noise emissions we began the development of hybrid technology for the marine industry. That concept is now deployed around the world. The royalties from that effort are now funding our research into advanced hull forms that will further reduce marine based emissions.

When you sail with us, you can be assured we spend more effort in delivering the experience than we ever do marketing it.
